It all started when...
María took a photography class at Santa Monica City College. We were living in Los Angeles, where Mike had finished a Master's Degree in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute, and María had just filmed her first MacDonald's commercial as an actress. They had been together for years, having met in Madrid, where Mike moved after college to write, teach, and improve his Spanish. Originally from New York, Mike proposed that they move as a couple to Hollywood and pursue their mutual dreams as a writer/director and actress (and that wasn't the only thing he proposed). But it wasn't until María started learning photography, and until they bought their first camera, a Canon 60D, that photography became an important part of their life and marriage. They had always been artists, writing for the camera and acting in front of the camera, but now they were holding the camera in their own hands, shooting stills and video, portraits and short films. After moving back to Spain in 2014 and having their first child, Mike's passion for photography led him to create MICHAEL RAPHAN PHOTOGRAPHY, specializing but not limited to weddings, child and family portraits, and dogs.
TODO EMPEZÓ CUANDO...
María se apuntó a un curso de fotografía en Santa Monica. Llevábamos un par de años en Los Angeles, donde Mike se estaba completando su Master en Guión de Cine del conservatorio del American Film Institute y María acababa de rodar su primer anuncio de MacDonald's como actriz. Se habían conocido en Madrid unos años anteriores, cuando Mike se mudó allí al terminar su carrera para escribir guiones y dar clase de inglés. Aunque era de Nueva York, Mike propuso a María que se mudaran juntos a Hollywood para intentar conseguir sus sueños como cineasta (él) y actriz (ella). Pero fue cuando María empezó a estudiar fotografía, y compraron su primera cámara, una 60D de Canon, que la fotografía tomó mucha importancia en sus vidas y su matrimonio. Los dos siempre eran artistas, escribiendo para la cámara o actuando delante de la cámara, pero ahora tenían la cámara en sus manos, e hicieron retratos y grabaron cortometrajes. Y después de mudarse de nuevo a españa y traer al mundo su primer hijo en 2014, la pasión de Mike por la fotografía le llegó a crear MICHAEL RAPHAN PHOTOGRAPHY, especialistas en fotografía de bodas, niños y familias, y perros.
